Why trANSYLVANIA
Since 2019, Mozaique has been collaborating with local master weavers in rural Transylvania whose artistry and craftsmanship are well know around the country and the world. Our partners, a family owned workshop, are located in a village in the heart of Transylvania. Around 7 weavers, mostly women, have successfully managed to keep this tradition alive despite all the socio-economic challenges the workshop has been facing in its 6 decades of existence.
Each blanket and bed throw is individually woven using an ancient human powered electric loom and carefully finished by hand,
The wool is locally sourced from shepherds around the country and no dyes are used.
